Memorable Moments: A Year in Review

We take so many photos – far too many, if I’m honest. But with so many beautiful moments, how could I possibly resist? Looking back, it’s not just the animals or the flowers that fill my mobile phone, but the laughter and warmth of friends and family, too. As I sift through these snapshots, I can’t help but smile at the memories that made 2025 so special.

January to March

January – Dramatic sunsets and the arrival of darling Tay.

February – Misty mornings and you can just make out the donkeys and Goat Castle! Princess Leia is definitely not camera-shy, Alphonse needs his daily cuddle, and sweet Tay is gradually taking over the bed!

March – A cold market day, but a bright and beautiful display of beautiful, coloured eggs.

April to June

April – The first tulips appear! Sadly, they’re too small to sell, but so so cute. My friend Charlie arrived for a working holiday. Job number 1 – weed the gîte flower bed, clean and relay the stones. What a transformation!

May – Happy days! My family arrived to help with spring cleaning, the ranunculas flowered, and the roses were in full scented bloom!

June – Time to plant the dahlias. Can’t wait for them to grow. In the meantime, I am falling in love with sea lavender.

July to September

July – My daughter Dominque arrived to help me celebrate my birthday.

August – A scorching-hot month, and the first of the Special Monthly Market Days in Duravel. Back at the farm, it was too hot and tiring for the animals.

September – My lovely friend Fleur arrived to remind me that all work and no play makes me a dull girl. And hurray, the dahlias are beginning to bloom.

October to December

October – Started planning the big breakfast event at the farm for later in the year. Also, now have enough blooms to create and sell floral bouquets and vases of flowers at the market.

November – Time to put the wallipini (underground greenhouse) to bed and start preparing new flower beds for Spring planting.

December – Our first Brunch dates were a wonderful success and we had some great feedback! And, my homemade pasties are selling faster than I can make them. More monthly bakes ideas are whirling around in my head, but for now, I’m looking forward to a short festive break and spending quality time with family and friends. ❤️ Happy Holidays!
